Ramsey Island is an iconic landmark of St Davids life. Trip Details Ramsey is home to one of the UK's largest Grey Seal colonies and from September to December seal pups are on every beach.

Ramsey Island is owned and protected by the RSPB who have granted Thousand Islands Expeditions sole landing rights to the Island. They are home to ravens, peregrines and buzzards.

Ramsey is in the sunniest area of the Isle of Man, with relatively low rainfall. This habitat is the haunt of stonechats, meadow pipits, linnets and skylarks.There is a small shop on the island and refreshments are available.Boats leave from St Justinians for the short crossing to Ramsey at 10 am and 12 pm, returning at 4 pm (between 1st April or Easter, whichever is earlier, to 31st October). Ramsey Island was purchased by the RSPB in 1992 and was designated a National Nature Reserve in 1996 due to its internationally important flora and fauna, including 20 species of rare plants, breeding Chough and Lapwing and the largest Grey Seal colony in Wales. These stretch into the Celtic Deep and the warm climate and nutrient rich waters provide sanctuary to a wide spectrum of wildlife.
