The South-Eastern Circuit is the most popular overnight hike, with most walkers choosing to camp and taking one to two days to complete the loop.Hiking Wilsons Promontory is a rewarding and unique way to see the park. She loves nothing better than helping others to follow in their footsteps. Divers can explore sponge gardens, reefs and small islands that are home to penguins, sea birds, and seals. Extending along 17 kilometres of coastline it’s Victoria’s largest marine protected area.The strict fishing regulations guarantee some of the best diving and snorkeling in the state. Around the Loo Errn you’ll most likely see wombats, but also look out for various types of wallabies, echidnas, native swap rats, several types of tiny marsupials and native birds. Linen is not supplied in the basic huts.Our best advice on where to stay in Wilsons Prom is to stay just outside the park in Yanakie. Gorgeous wildflowers grow in the national park too, such as wattle, heathland, and even orchids.With its granite peaks and wild natural beauty, Prom country is truly something special. You’ll have to work for it though as Wilsons Promontory Lighthouse can only be reached on foot.It was built by convict labourers in 1859 on a rocky slither of land. There are two routes to choose from; the inland route via Telegraph Saddle carpark (19 km one way) or the coastal route from Tidal River via Oberon Bay (23.8 km one way).There are three cottages, each has a bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Australia is known for sun, surf and sand, and Victoria is no exception.

It’s possible to climb Mt Bishop directly from the car park (7.4 km) and avoid Lilly Pilly Gully altogether.Just a short walk from the Stockyard Campsite is an extensive series of inland sand dunes known as Big Drift.
For romantics, the The Prom’s latest accommodation option, these safari-style large permanent tents are situated in a quiet part of Tidal River and are the ultimate in glamping, with timber floors, a queen bed and a communal kitchen for Wilderness Retreat guests.The northern part of the Prom doesn’t get nearly as many visitors, but Miller’s Landing, near the park entrance, is an easy walk with the chance to see flora and fauna you wouldn’t normally associate with the Prom, including large flocks of black swans.An abundance of wildlife calls Refuge Cove its home, with waters in the region that supports dolphins, sharks, seals and migrating whales as well as a rich diversity of bird life, including albatross, shearwater, fairy prions, little penguins and white-bellied sea eagles.
