Much like the previous installment of this unlikely franchise, the film drapes itself in darkness so that it can focus our attention on any stray specks of light; one early shot, in which the white halo of a helicopter spotlight tracks a brown man as he sprints towards the Texas border during the dead of night, provides a convenient visual metaphor. It’s also a hard movie, in the way that Josh Brolin’s jawline is hard, or that Hemingway is hard, or that trying to carve a coherent narrative out of the Escher-like power struggle of the Mexican Drug War is hard. A sickly cinematic experience that surrounds the viewer in blackness before sending them right into the thick of it. With Deakins' soul-searing cinematography, Johann Johannsson's heart-exploding score, and Villeneuve's tracking mindset of "firecracker" pops and splattering eruption; Remember the scene in BOOGIE NIGHTS where Alfred Molina is randomly tossing firecrackers at Mark Wahlberg and John C. Reilly? The answer I came to was nothing, from the first scene to the last this is a white knuckle ride full of tension and suspense, there were a few scenes where I was actually holding my breath. The Police Officer subplot fails tremendously on a rewatch, mainly because Villeneuve only glances back at it when necessary, leading to a supposedly heart-wrenching conclusion that feels resoundingly false in the grand scheme of the narrative. There seems to be a bunch of ideas and narrative threads thrown in that ultimately could have been done without. "LA LA LAND was soooo amazing! Sending down military guys off the books to hire a hitman and kill narcos. I like the fact that we are left in the dark as Emily Blunts character is. Fast schon auf gleichem Niveau des Vorgängers. Terrorism, smuggling of people over the border, and how cartels are potentially smuggling terrorists. Original title: Sicario 77, vivo o morto Alternative titles: Sicario 77 - Tot oder lebendig, Das Geheimnis der tödlichen Strahlen, Agente End, Bazooka pour un espion Directed by Mino Guerrini Previous I was concerned that there was no Villeneuve in on this that's why I skipped it in theatre.
Kidnapping a daughter of a cartel head, as a way to start a conflict and get funding from the feds.I thought Stefano did alright, gets a lot more criticism then i think it deserves! The drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border has escalated as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border.

Brilliant performances by Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt and a masterful cinematography by Roger Deakins. That’s sort of its thing.
Second viewing, no change. My favorite scene is definitely towards the end when Benicio Del Toro says “Time to meet God.” Villenueve really knows how to get the most out of all the people he works with and create such great stories that leave you anticipating the next thing until it’s all revealed at the end.I love this movie.
