We found out this is because the cafe shuts at 2pm. Rooms. Tried to hand me a menu as I was leaving which I declined. I would definitely Highly recommend.Had a fabulous night out with friends, the food was absolutely fantastic, the staff were friendly and cheerful and the atmosphere was great.We stopped here one afternoon at 2.15pm after a morning of fossicking and were surprised to see it shut. We had the good fortune of discovering the Union in its first week of operation.We had a beautiful meal at The Union and did not realise it was only their second night until one of the locals told us. Service was friendly and generous - we will be back The Union will put Inverell on the food map - support a great regional restaurant! It is located in an old commercial building which I expect has played a significant part in the town's history (though I don't know that for sure) and which has now been very thoroughly and tastefully renovated into a modern restaurant/bar complex. The ambience is relaxed and the host made us very welcome as we stepped into the place.

I noticed they had some interesting-sounding locally brewed beers on tap but as it was lunchtime we stuck to their coffee - which was excellent.
