It's like coming home. I do like Nick Hornby books. So I approached "Just Like You" with a bit of trepidation. I wanted to feel something powerful. After a few conversations with the label I told them that I wanted to release it. But with all their differences, does love stand a chance?I was captivated by the first part of Just Like You. So why was I not really a major fan of the book?Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin for an early review copy in exchange for a fair assessment of the title. Lucy was spunky. A mismatched couple she’s in her 40s, divorced(well in the process of divorcing), white, college educated, upper middle class, and anti-brexit, he’s in his 20s, single, black, working class, and pro-brexit(by 2%).

How can their relationship survive these major differences?Finally a love story that’s real to today’s world. So that was really refreshing … It was just important for me to write a song that could humanize me as much as possible, and that the fans could really feel like I’m just like them – honest and vulnerable and real.There’s one song I’m really attached to called ‘Just Like You,’ which is all about this view of celebrities that we’re impenetrable and almost not human, but fundamentally we all have the same problems. Through the story Hornby explores the racist values that are held by some of the British publish and the prejudice that Lucy and Joseph face not only as a result Joseph dating a white woman but also as a result of their larger age gap. Mine just look a load different to, maybe, Tom who works in the chippy from nine to five.Louis Tomlinson Faces The Downsides Of Fame On New Single “Just Like You” The sentiment is a fine one, although the book has to throw curveballs into the success of the relationship before it can be suggested the moral can be proven correct. There is something so comforting and familiar to Hornby's words. How can their relationship survive these major differences?If NORMAL PEOPLE's characters were a little too caustic for you, maybe you just need Joseph and Lucy as a palate cleanser. This is a book about conversations, about relationships, about generational differences and race and class and Brexit and honesty.
